Not one blunt average.

We don't reduce a building to a single star count. Every dimension gets its own score, so the things that matter to you aren't hidden in the median.

Anonymity & trust

Speak honestly.
Stay invisible.

A report on UnitCheck Rent can't be traced back to you. We layer three independent protections on every submission — automatically.

Three layers, applied automatically
01

Auto-masked personal data

Names, phone numbers, emails, and other personal details that slip into your text are stripped before publishing — by automated detection, not a human.

02

Anonymous publishing

Reports appear under a rotating pseudonym. We never expose your profile, rental history, or the buildings you've lived in. Unit numbers stay private.

03

Moderation, not censorship

Direct attacks, identity claims, and legally problematic content are filtered. Honest negative feedback isn't — that's the whole point.

FAQ

Things worth
asking us.

If you don't see your question here, write to us — the team reads every message.

Is my report really anonymous?+
Yes. Reports are published under a rotating pseudonym. We never expose your profile, the buildings you've lived in, or your unit number. Personal details in your text are auto-stripped before publishing.
Do I need to upload a lease or any document?+
No. We rely on structured questions, pattern detection, and lightweight moderation. No document upload required.
Will my email ever be shown to anyone?+
Never. Email is used only for account access and notifications — never published, never sold, never shared with landlords.
Why might my report get rejected?+
Reports that include direct insults, identity claims about specific people, or content that could create legal exposure are sent back for edits. Negative feedback about a building, when written factually, is welcome.
Which cities are covered today?+
We're starting in high-rental-volume U.S. metros and expanding. Limited-data buildings still appear on the map so you know where coverage is thin — and you can be the first to report.
What if I'm a landlord and a report bothers me?+
Anyone can flag a report. We re-check it against our content policy and remove anything that crosses the line into personal attacks or unverified claims.
How long is my data stored?+
Account data is kept while you have an active account. Published reports remain visible while live. You can delete your account and request data deletion at any time from settings.
Does it work on my phone?+
UnitCheck works in your browser on desktop and mobile while coverage expands across the U.S.
